Maury and I were invited to attend Parsons' 10th annual Fashion Studies line debut this past Thursday. This exciting yearly event features the designs of graduating students of Parson's AAS (Associate in Applied Science) program. These lucky and, of course, talented students will have their designs make their way into the floors of Bloomingdale's this fall. Fern Mallis, the Senior VP of IMG Fashion and founder of Fashion Week, was in attendance along with Betsey Johnson who presented Mallis the first-ever AAS Icon Award. Also honored at the event was Jenny Kao, an AAS alum who has successfully launched her own ready-to-wear womens' line since graduating. Needless to say, Maury and I felt this class of 2009 was super innovative and you couldn't deny the Japanese influence all around. We definitely had a blast!
Let's first start off with what we wore: Gisela wore her amazing Martin Margiela Coat, Boots by Zigi Soho,t-shirt by AA, F21 Ripped Jeans, Louis Vuitton Clutch, Frederick's of Hollywood gloves. Maury wore and incredible wool/silk Louis Feraud Blazer, F21 Tank Tops, AA Zippered leggings, Guess Fringe Boots and Jimmy Choo "Ramona" bag.
Here Maury chats with one of her favorite designers of the night, Tina So. The look she designed was probably the most popular of the night what with its Balmain/Balenciaga influence and all:
Here's another of Maury's favorites, model Simon of Major, LOL!
PS: Maury just purchased her first Canon SLR and although she's still learning how to use it, she still managed to take some amazing pics! I was lucky enough to shoot a few myself :-) Stay tuned for some kick-ass pics from now on!!
