While having an MRI last week I was instructed to not move for exactly 25 minutes. Oh the horror! I don't remember ever staying absolutely still for anything. So having been left with no choice I decided to meditate and think about my closet, lol! Such a disaster I thought, its a lil cubby hole which I stuffed all my precious garments into with no breathing room. It was impossible to find a garment without getting my hair caught in the hangers. All the digging in the dark was upsetting. It was depressing. Then I thought "what would Maury do"? And a lightbulb went off! I said "hellooo gisela! look at Maury's closet and how fab it is!" Why not do the same I thought! I called up Maury the next day and it didn't take her long to rush me over to ikea and put my closet together visually. Few days later, tada!!!
For now, the long dresses have no home, so they will hang against the wall til further notice..
Below is the before picture of that wall.. although I thought the shoe display looked aesthetically pleasing..it was not practical for someone who lacked space..
Maury's measurements and choices were perfection! I had just enough room on that wall to fit the closet and the depth was on the money! Now I use the closet on the opposite side as storage, therefore having freed up much room in the apt!
If anyone out there is having a closet crisis, contact Maury and she will solve all your problems, and then some! She's heaven sent I tell you.
I am in Snowy Montreal with my lovely sisters celebrating their bdays. I was inspired by leopard today and had saved these images with Model Anja Rubik. She designed and modeled this collection with Quazi. The campaign is shoot by Artur Wesolowski.
I want to thank you all for taking the time and visiting our blog and supporting us. Thank You...Thank You! It has been an exciting year for Gisela and I and we are both so grateful to have friends like yourself. We hope that you are having a splendid time with your family and friends in this beautiful Thanksgiving day!
pics taken on my way to work this week around Central Park with Iphone
My lovely sister, unbeknownst to me, took this pic just as I was about to getup to greet the hubby who was meeting us for lunch in soho. She showed it to me after and I thought it was neat! Marriage can be alot of work, sometimes it can get overwhelming but its comforting to know that he can still make me smile this way....let alone after 10 years.
I thought about this pic some more that night and I knew it reminded me of something I'd seen before. Finally I remembered! Below is my mom circa 1981, and yes, that is the same white rabbit fur she handed down to me.
Thanks Bianca, you rock!!
and now you all know the secret to my success, her name is Ramona :-)
Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates these last few days. Maury's been super busy not only helping me design and build my closet space but also designing my website and business cards! This woman is a power-house. Amazing things are to come of her and I just can't wait!
In the midst of all this craziness last week, Maury and I stopped at the Kelly Wearstler designed room at Bergdorf Goodman. Both of us are inspired by her no holds barred approach and Maury is clearly smitten by this brilliant woman with legit reason.
Here we are pondering the beauty of it all..lol
Maury's been forever eyeing the YSL tributes. Which should she invest in, the suede black or leopard print? I vote for the latter, no surprise there, lol.
Before we hit BG we visited the Manolo Blahnik sample sale. We were fashionably late, and in the sample sale world, thats' just god awful! Even the porters quipped "you guys missed it, all the good stuff is gone." That wasn't enough to make us turn around, lol. We marched right up the stairs of the Warwick hotel and into a frenzy of hobbling women trying on shoes. Maury and I grabbed whatever caught our eyes, even though nothing was left.
I grabbed these:
...and Andre Leon Talley(ALT) approved! He saw me scrounging for more shoes and he said "Honey, you got the best pair, get out of here!" lool
A couple of days ago I attended the Google HiTech Fashion event where Google debuted their "Boutiques.com" website. Just imagine if "shopstyle.com" and "polyvore.com" had a child, and you've got the gist. According to the site: "Boutiques.com is a personalized shopping experience, brought to you by Google, that lets you find and discover fashion goods through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers -- celebrities, stylists, designers, and fashion bloggers. Boutiques uses visual technology to help fashionistas discover and shop their look and creates the opportunity for designers to showcase their collections and latest inspirations online."
The suare was chic and tasteful.. From gigantic human size chess boards to b-boy break-dancers and suspended burlesque ballerinas, it had it all! Google definitely lived up to its rep. Yummy hors d'ouvres were served non-stop through the evening, inventive drinks such as the Jalapeno Pineapple cocktail I couldn't get enough of had the guests coming back for more and not to mention having fun celeb-spotting (Kelly Obsbourne and Alexa Chung :-)
For this event I finally got to wear my Valentino kitten heels! I was wearing these fab Moschino ostrich slingbacks initially. As I started walking to the train I realized I can't walk in them! A 5 minute walk to the train took me 15! I kept stopping because the shoes were wobbly and I kept falling to the sides, like what the heck! I'm sure people thought I was drunk. I had tried them on and walked around before buying but they did not transition well to the streets. I love them but darn it!
After I changed to the Valentino's I don't think I will wear any other shoe for a long long time. They are so comfy!!
Gisela wears: Topshop black goat fur, Herve Leger skirt and Valentino kitten heels.
We'll keep you posted on our continuous adventures in NYC!
We met Pamela Love at the Harpers Bazaar Accessories show this past September to preview her Spring 2011 collection. When we first saw it, we thought "I guess we don't need a gun or a knife to protect ourselves." All we need is a Pamela Love Ring and we are all set to go! Her collection was inspired by Indian and African tribes, from tiered rows of skull-beads and spiked cuff bracelets to delicate geometrics suspended from thin gold chains. These star-point bracelets may have been designed for looks, but we bet nomadic and urban chics alike could wield them as a weapon of self defense! I know we can't wait to add some Pamela Love into our designer jewelry collection. Also, please check out her apartment which was recently featured in the Selby.
We love Pamela Love's nomadic and free spirited style.
We want those rings!!!!
3 finger ring with swarovski crystals!
Gisela asked " Pamela, is this a coaster? No, it's a bracelet! LOVE IT!!!!!
The ultimate eye popping weapon...ladies, great investment if you are walking alone and don't feel safe!
Love the crystal mineral details peaking out!

The first 2 Pamela Love pics were found in the TFS.
If there was one religion I would practice it would definitely be Ford-ism! Ever since the day Mr. Ford left his post as the creative director of YSL and Gucci, I have been waiting anxiously to see his Womenswear comeback. It is with no surprise that after six years he is back and breaking all the rules.
Vogue and Steven Meisel were the first to get dibs on capturing the elegance and exuberance of Mr. Ford's womenswear collection. It sure looks like he continued where he left off at YSL, giving us a smocking suit, a trenchcoat, animal print silk suit, backless black gown, and a fringe blue cocktail number to send all guys to the cardiologist!
I appreciate that Mr.Ford, a Virgo like myself, doesn't care about what people think and likes to pave waves for himself! After seeing a Single Man It was confirmed that you can do whatever you want in life and you do not need to follow rules. His direction in that film was superb for it to be his first. After meeting Colin Firth last week at the screening of his new film " The Kings Speech" I understood why Mr. Ford casted him to be the lead actor. Mr. Ford is not only a fashion designer, creative director, perfumer, marketer, and a business man, but for this film he also co-wrote the script, casted, directed, edited and financed it! He is taking the world by storm, and he is taking me with him as I have always been a big fan and a Ford lover!
I could go on and on about Mr. Ford, so since my lunchbreak is over and I am posting from my Iphone I will stop here. Plus I have tons of stories to share about Mr. Ford! Btw, doesn't he look so much younger and gorgeous! I will always have a crush on him no matter what team he plays! One day I will sure be able to touch him with my cherry lush lips! Viva The Ford Empire!
During fashion week we attended the first ever Harper’s Bazaar Accessories designer showcase sponsored by Willow Club at the Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. As we were looking around, the first table that blew us away was Anndra Neen. A line of jewelry designed by sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens. These young and very talented sisters hail from Mexico City where they also use local artisans to handcraft their pieces.
Anndra Neen was founded just over a year ago, in April 2009. The pictures do not capture the remarkable details of these jewelry pieces. Gisela and I personally want to invest in a couple pieces because they are truly a work of art. Phoebe and Annette are inspired by antique European jewelry, Egyptian and Bedouin motifs, Japanese design elements and French Medieval Armor. The uniqueness of these pieces is that they use mixed metals to create something modern yet so expressive.
Not only are Phoebe and Annette talented but they have such a great aura. They were so cool and fun to talk to. I can’t wait to see them get more accounts and magazine features as their jewelry is on its way to reaching great heights!

Gisela wanted to go home with this one!
Annette wearing one of her neckpieces...what a necklace!
I want this cuff and ring....don't you want it too?
Imagine walking into a room wearing that necklace, all eyes would be on u!
I also loved Annette's Rubik's Cube tattoo.
Dominican Model Arlenis Sosa and Me....take a sneek peek at my Crocodile Gold Lanvin's!!! I can't wait to do a posting on them.
This week, we will be posting all the other pics we have of this event showcasing the other designers.
